New Items or Site added to Dynamics GP Inventory

If you are in a situation where you’ve added a lot of Microsoft Dynamics GP inventory items, you can save yourself or invoice entry people a lot of time by assigning them to a site right away.

Don’t worry, I’m not suggesting you do it one item at a time.

Pull up the Site Maintenance Window and pull up a site. Click on the Assign button at the button. From here you can simple click OK at the button and all inventory items that are currently not part of this site will become assigned in mass. This is particularly useful if your inventory items are not physical inventory items.

This may be something you already knew; at it may not apply to you. But I’m always surprised that clients who’ve been using GP for years and have been trained have forgotten or missed basic steps causing them extra work every day.

Hi Belinda,
I'm trying to find a programmatic way of accomplishing this very feet of inventory assignment. The MSDN docs are too general and I haven't stumbled upon the proper API class combination or google query as yet. I'd appreciate any guidance/direction you may be able to provide.

Hi Barry,
Since your comment mentions "API Class Combinations or Google Query" I'm guessing you are attempting to mass assign classes to groups of select items. Please let me know if my assumption is not correct.
Meanwhile, I've just posted a video that I will blog about next week. Perhaps this will help.

Update for Barry...
I am not sure which API in eConnect should be used, however I can provide you with the table. Table IV00102 contains a record for each combination Item-Site. Perhaps this will help you in development.
